Rob & Jenna’s Proposal! | Winter Engagement & Family Portraits at Garden of the Gods

Happy Valentine’s Day!  With love in the air, it’s a perfect time to post amazing portraits from Rob & Jenna’s engagement and family portraits photography session!  Rob worked with us quite a bit behind the scenes to plan all the details to surprise Jenna.  While we’ve photographed a handful of proposals for couples over the years, this one was done in a way that created some of the best portraits.  In the past, all of our proposals have required a lot of planning and keeping Jon “hidden” while photographing the proposal.  In contrast to those experiences, Rob told Jenna he’d won a raffle for a photography session.  When they came in for the pre-session consultation, we congratulated them on their “win” and included her in the session planning.  By letting her be a part of the planning, we built the session with her preferences.  Because the session itself wasn’t a surprise, she looked her best, and they could coordinate their attire for cohesive, timeless portraits.  And again, since she was expecting a photography session, Jon’s presence was expected, and he was able to place them in a picture-perfect setting.  Everything went as planned, and Jenna was completely surprised when Rob proposed at the start of their session!

We LOVE their session portraits.  Within our typical one-hour session, we did a LOT!  We captured family portraits, portraits of Rob’s son, the proposal and all the accompanying emotional moments and memories, and a lot of fun, playful moments with all of them on a beautiful, wintery February day.

CONGRATULATIONS, ROB & JENNA!!  We’re so excited for you!!
