Courtney is thirteen, completing middle school in the coming weeks, and heading into high school come fall. When her mom was in earlier this year for an updated professional business headshot, Courtney was with her mom for that appointment. Jon took a couple minutes and photographed a handful of portraits. Courtney’s whole face lit up when she saw these impromptu images and remarked that she’s mostly just seen her baby pictures around the house. Her mom began asking about a mini-session in the studio just for Courtney, and we could not have been more excited to create these portraits.
We scheduled Courtney for an actual, planned session, and her mom embraced the power held in these portraits – both the experience to create the portraits as well as the finished art that would be made. She made sure the whole session day was really special – complete with spa appointments for her nails, hair, and make-up. This day is going to be treasured by Courtney for years to come.
We have been photographing high school seniors for years. Every single time we present the portraits to these teens, it’s evident that Jon is helping each of them see themselves as strong, beautiful, and special. I had begun thinking already that it would be amazing to create portraits before senior year that would daily speak beauty, worth, and value to tweens and teens, helping them navigate what can be hard years with more confidence and a resounding assurance that they are special and loved. We have gotten to do just that for Courtney. May she always look at her wall portraits and know deeply that she is beautiful, special, and loved.
We’re excited to share both her impromptu and her mini-session in-studio portraits. We see a strong and beautiful girl with joy and spunk that lights up the room. And we are so looking forward to a handful of years from now when we photograph her high school senior portraits!!
Jon,
Thanks for your wonderful work of showing how beautiful my baby girl is. I’m proud to be lucky enough to be Courtney’s dad. I’m also a little sad to see how fast my baby girl is maturing.
Best Regards!
