The Ford Family | Garden of the Gods Family Photography

This precious family knows Colorado Springs well!  We were so excited to be the photographer to create their very first family portraits.  Their daughter is just too cute, and she is certainly deeply loved by her mom, dad, and grandma!  They chose Garden of the Gods for their session location as mom and daughter spend time every week in this beautiful place.  We know that as time passes, lots of the memories of their special times together in the park will be remembered through these portraits.

Creating art for the home is our goal for each of our families, and we know that the portraits we create today become legacy pieces for the future.  It’s why the viewing and ordering side of an experience with us is as important as the photography session.  Our art is complete and truly art when it hangs on a wall, decorates the home, and is able to be held and touched.  Every family needs a tangible legacy to pass down to the next generation.  This precious family has a 3-piece canvas art grouping hanging in their home, and we know they will treasure it for years to come.  And as their family grows and changes, these art pieces help them hold tight to priceless memories from this time in their family’s story.

In their own words,

We are so in love with the canvas in the living room– it was up the same night it came in!! It does truly add the touch that we hoped it would in our home. The photos have captured our family at this moment perfectly. Thank you both again!

ME | Air Academy High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2016

ME’s session was a really special one for us as she’s the final high school senior in her family, and we photographed all of the senior portraits for this family!  While ME may be on the quieter side, she’s active in theater, speech & debate, and figure skating…all activities that put her front and center!  She dreams of becoming a translator for ambassadors from around the world, which sounds like a fascinating career path. She chose our one-hour Senior Session with Manitou Springs as her location.

Congratulations, ME on becoming one of AAHS’s most recent graduates!

Lora | Pine Creek High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2016

We’re excited to catch up on some of the Class of 2016 blog posts, and Lora is one of Pine Creek’s most recent graduates!  During her time in high school, Lora was active with French, DECA, and English riding with her horse, Finale.  Lora chose our multi-hour Senior Experience to provide enough time to create beautiful portraits in Black Forest with Finale and also portraits in Cheyenne Cañon and Stratton Open Space.  Lora plans to pursue an undergraduate degree in psychology followed by aspirations to earn either her PhD in therapy or a law degree.  She’s driven and passionate, and those qualities will serve her well with all her dreams.

Campbell Family Photography at Garden of the Gods

The Campbell Family was so fun to photograph, and we love that they will soon enjoy their wall art in their new home!  They love the outdoors and the mountain views we enjoy in our city.  Their family is fun-loving and tight-knit, and the parents just celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary!  We’re excited to share favorites from their family photography session in Garden of the Gods just a few weeks ago.

Our Family’s Journey Continues…

Our blog has been quiet for awhile.  We wish it was for countless reasons other than what it is.  Just a mere two months ago, we celebrated finishing our son, Tyler’s, treatment plan for cancer.  We enjoyed just four weeks of family life without a thought of cancer before he began having a different set of symptoms that led to the discovery of tumors on his spine.  Those tumors grew so quickly that they compressed his spinal cord and took away his lower body functioning.  We are praying for and hold fast to hope that Tyler will again walk and do all the things his body was able to do just mere weeks ago…and that he will be healed fully and completely from the cancer.  We (and our entire medical team) are stunned by how quickly the cancer returned.  This treatment plan we now face is incredibly different from the first one.  It’s the most aggressive treatment plan possible in order to seek a cure for him.  While we are stunned and still learning how to do life and our business in Colorado Springs while Tyler’s receiving intense care in Denver over many of the coming months, our God knows each of our days and knows how He will continue to walk with us and equip us in love and faithfulness.  We thank you for prayers on our behalf and for each of you who continue to bless us with the honor of photographing your family’s important moments and milestones.

From our family to yours,

Jon & Lindsay

Rest in peace, Tyler. Take care of the animals up in Heaven and we look forward to meeting you there at the zoo.
God, please take care of Tyler and his Mom, Dad and sister. For this, we pray.
