Jenny & Jeremy | Engagement Portraits

Jenny, and her fiance, Jeremy, live in St.Louis and were here for a visit and to have their engagement session here in Colorado! We’re beyond excited to travel to Saint Lucia (South Caribbean) next April for their wedding! Jon can’t wait to photograph their beach wedding!! We took them around Garden of the Gods and into Cheyenne Canyon and Helen Hunt Falls for their session. They had such a blast taking their pictures. The highlight for them was at Helen Hunt Falls, and they had quite a lot of people very interested to watch their pictures there in the water! The session ended perfectly with an amazing sunset and some beautiful and romantic silhouettes. Congratulations you guys on the wedding…we love you and are SO EXCITED for next April!

Aya…Class of 2011 | High School Senior Photography

We want to congratulate Aya for receiving our merit-based scholarship this year! As our winner, she received her session for FREE and also had a studio credit to spend toward her order! Aya is quite an accomplished student and very talented. We’ve loved getting to know her whole family! We were at The Broadmoor, Cheyenne Canyon, and America The Beautiful Park for her session. The funniest moment (see below) was when we were photographing her with her dog. Right after the pictures, her dog bolted into the lake at The Broadmoor after the geese! Pretty hilarious and definitely surprising (to both us AND the geese)! Take a look at her movie below to see favorites from her session. Congratulations, Aya, on receiving our scholarship!!

Doggone funny!

Connor’s Family | Cheyenne Canyon Portraits

Before they move, David and Audrey were really excited to add a family session to their baby photography package. We took them to the beautiful Cheyenne Canyon area and ended up at Helen Hunt Falls. If you’ve never been to the Cheyenne Canyon area, it’s definitely one of our favorite spots. After doing this session last Saturday, Jon brought our family out for a Father’s Day hike on Sunday. We love the mountain stream that runs through the canyon and the ruggedness of the scenery. These are our favorites from their session…

Connor at 12 months | Baby Portraits

Connor is one year old now and 100% boy! We’ve been photographing him and getting to know his family since his 6 month session. They are such a fun family! We cracked up at this session because we captured the reality of SNOT in the life of parents of little ones and also a very funny moment of their dog. While they’re moving soon out of the Springs, we’re glad they’re staying in Colorado and plan to be in the Springs often. Here’s some favorites…

Our Family | Tyler’s 6 month baby portraits

I don’t think a day goes by without a moment of feeling so blessed that we work for ourselves and get to be here for our kids. Now, I also think not a day goes by without the thought of, “We’re crazy…how do we think we can work full time AND parent full time?!?!” But…overall, it’s a deep sense of blessing. Lately life has been filled with Natalie fully asserting her “two-ness” (i.e., mini-tantrums and exerting independence with unrivaled determination) and Tyler’s recent mastery of sitting up. Looking back on Natalie’s first year, that sitting up stage is a definite favorite. I love that time when they can sit up and interact contentedly with toys around them, yet (and this is the key component) they stay put! So, when we did these 6 month pictures of Tyler, he was still a little wobbly, and I was so excited for him to really get it. He just mastered it about two weeks ago, and then just ONE WEEK later, he’s up on all fours. What happened to the 2 or so months of immobility?!?! Apparently, my days are numbered and crawling is imminent. He hasn’t figured it out quite yet, but every day he tries with such determination that any day could be the day it happens. And it doesn’t help that his Dad is encouraging him to gain this new skill (they “practice” and “train” together!). Don’t get me wrong…I’ll love watching him figure it out and gain a new skill and a huge new level of independence…I just don’t want my little guy growing up too fast on me! Enjoy some of my favorites from his 6 month portraits we did the middle of May…
