International Gull Wing Group | 2021 Colorado Springs Convention on The Royal Gorge Bridge

Part 2 of our time photographing the Gull Wing Group highlights the amazing experience they enjoyed at The Royal Gorge Bridge. The team from the Royal Gorge did such a wonderful job helping coordinate parking all the gull wings on the bridge. We partnered with our certified drone pilot to create these phenomenal portraits and video that would not have been possible without the benefits of the drone. The coordination for all of this had to happen within a 20-minute window of time, and we’re thankful for all the helping hands that made it happen! Truly one of the most unique and special experiences we’ve enjoyed in our business and clearly a convention highlight for all the attendees of the 2021 Gull Wing Group Convention!

International Gull Wing Group | 2021 Colorado Springs Convention

We had an absolute blast as the photography team for the fall 2021 convention for the International Gull Wing Group! This is such a fun, down-to-earth, friendly group. We fully enjoyed getting to know attendees from around the world and learning about their world of deep appreciation and care for gull wings. As a couple who deeply appreciates the past and the restoration and preservation of pieces of history, this was incredibly fun to be with people who share that same spirit.

The event centered at The Broadmoor with awesome sight-seeing for the attendees and their vintage cars throughout Colorado Springs and surrounding areas. In this “Part 1” of their multi-post feature, we’re sharing favorites from their time at the Air Force Academy and scenic drive through Garden of the Gods that kicked off with a portrait by Jonathan from the viewpoint at the Visitor’s Center. We truly appreciate the permissions and assistance from the staff at both the Air Force Academy & Garden of the Gods.

Important note: The group portrait at the AFA is a composite image; cars are not allowed on the lawn and we always fully respect the spaces in which we are blessed to photograph. Jon brought in the cars in post-production – those cars were never parked on the lawn.

Reece | Class of 2022 Discovery Canyon High School Senior Portraits + Colorado Springs Family Portraits

The senior year milestone in a family often prompts both senior portraits as well as the desire for updated family portraits. For this family that was certainly the case, so we’re featuring both Reece’s senior portraits as well as the dedicated family mini-session portraits created in 2021. We always want to give each a dedicated session spot, so any time we have a family with both requests, we schedule those sessions separately. It ensures that the family receives dedicated time to enjoy the fun of togetherness and the high school senior receives dedicated time to feel honored and receive that special attention to the celebration of that accomplishment.

New-grad Reece loves hiking and spending time in the mountains; reading a great book; and boxing (for leisure, not in competition!). She was excited for a great natural setting for her portraits with fields of flowers and mountain views as priorities for the selection of her portrait setting. She is planning to pursue a career in nursing that leads to working as a mental health practitioner.

The family portraits were created at a great spot to feature many of the iconic red rock formations and Front Range views of Colorado Springs. With these parents about to experience the empty nest stage of life, the senior portraits for both of their girls (we photographed their oldest’s senior portraits in 2019) and the gorgeous wall art of the family portraits will help keep their girls feeling close!

Zack | Pine Creek High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2022

Zack counts himself among Pine Creek High School’s most recent grads and plans to pursue a career in finance, potentially specializing in investment banking or private equity.

During high school he was active in his church community and Boy Scouts, and competed on the rugby team where he served as co-captain during his senior year. He enjoys being active outdoors with skiing and mountain biking topping the list of favorites.

Zack matched well for our one-hour senior session and loved the outdoor setting of Red Rock Canyon. Our one-hour sessions are well-suited for featuring areas of interest and activities, and Zack’s session included creating portraits celebrating his accomplishments in Boy Scouts and his involvement with the rugby team.

We’re excited to share favorites from his fall session and congratulate him on this huge milestone of graduation. We look forward to seeing his younger sister when her turn comes for senior portraits!

Kayla | Cheyenne Mountain High School | Class of 2022

Kayla is a current graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School. Kayla wanted to highlight some of the iconic outdoor locations around Colorado Springs since she recently moved here from South Korea.

It was an honor to capture Kayla’s passion for the piano at her home. Her plan following graduation is to pursue a degree in piano performance. Congrats on your graduation, Kayla!
