Blessed & Honored | National Recognitions Received at Imaging USA National Conference 2022

We just returned from our annual, national convention organized and run by Professional Photographers of America (PPA), held in the Washington D.C. area January 13th-18th, 2022. Imaging USA combines valuable education with a wonderful expo, heart-filling connection among photographers across the country (and world), and annual recognitions for both the artists competing in the annual International Print Competition (IPC) and national awards for education and service.

Jonathan receives honors each year in IPC, yet was honored at his highest levels yet this year. His entries below earned him the Platinum Medal – all images earning merits and three accepted into the Imaging Excellence Collection – and brought him a prestigious Grand Imaging Award. His entries below, titled as follows:

  • “Could You Share Your Umbrella?” [created in China] – Grand Imaging Award and accepted into the Imaging Excellence Collection
  • “Digging for Hope” [B&W portrait] – Accepted into the Imaging Excellence Collection
  • “Living on the Edge” [from Hua Shan in Xian, China] – Accepted into the Imaging Excellence Collection
  • “Pathway of Prayers” [from Hua Shan in Xian, China] – Merited Image

Additionally, Lindsay was incredibly honored to be the 2022 recipient of the National Business Education Award in recognition of her years of speaking at national conferences and service to PPA leadership roles and on the National Education Committee.

Your very impressive work was highly deserving of these prestigious awards! We are very happy for you! I realized after our meeting last week that I failed to ask you about the convention. Would love to have heard all this wonderful news in person, but glad I at least discovered it here on your site! Congratulations! Patsy Ruth and Bruce

Restoration Expertise | Bringing Family Legacy to Life

Restoration work is quite rewarding. We love seeing older photographs and deeply appreciate the history and legacy preserved. The process of restoration involves a number of steps and a lot of care. Every step incredibly worthwhile to bring new life to older legacy.

This recent project (before-and-after for the print pictured below) for one of our current client families took their favorite wedding portrait, faded and discolored from time and sun exposure, and brought it back to the original vibrancy. This project was a meaningful part of the celebration of their 25th Anniversary.

John | Pine Creek High School | Class of 2022

2021 goes on record as our busiest and best year ever of creating portrait art for families, and this family warms our heart every time we see them! Because we served so many families, our blogging paused until now. It’s time to catch up and begin featuring many of our 2021 seniors and families.

John kicks off our features for the Class of 2022. He is an incredibly athletic senior, competing on Pine Creek’s soccer team, basketball team, and track team. He also enjoys outdoor activities and singing in his free time.

For his senior portraits, John was excited to feature some of the iconic red rock formations and colors of our Colorado Springs scenery. He’ll be serving a two-year mission with his church after graduation, so familiar scenes of home will always bring back many memories from his high school years no matter where his next steps take him in life.

We’ve been this family’s portrait artist and legacy-maker since 2010 and count their loyalty as both our highest compliment and source of joy and gratitude.

Congratulations, John!

The Knighton Family | Colorado Springs Studio Portraiture

We’re so excited to share favorites from this recent studio session with the Knightons! Stunning portraits begin with attire, and the Knightons dressed to the nines creating a fabulous polished look for their family portraits. The strength of studio portraits lies in the simplicity – the people and the relationships they share receive full focus. Studio portraits are timeless, and as the Knightons prove well, are also dynamic.

With winter weather on its way, the studio gives you the opportunity for creating portraits regardless of weather in a great climate-controlled, comfortable space.

We can’t wait to continue to create legacy art as this family grows and changes over the coming years. And if you need a local roofer, check out their family-owned business: Knights Roofing

Cyrus & Jennifer | Colorado Springs Sunset Portraits Celebrating a New Marriage

Cyrus and Jennifer found us through a referral from one of our client families and were excited to create portraits to celebrate their July 2nd marriage. This summer was the time to make their commitment official, yet it will be next summer back in California when they will celebrate with all the family and friends who join them at that time. This friendly and down-to-earth couple has been together for seven years and met in California. They moved to Denver in 2019 and are enjoying the amazing mountain areas Colorado offers. We’re excited to celebrate this new marriage and share these favorites from a sensational sunset session in late summer.

Congratulations, Cyrus & Jennifer!
