Faith & Hope (and what we can do) in the waiting…

In these unprecedented times and very unexpected disruptions to business, family plans, and all sorts of daily life activities, we have a choice. We can choose where to place our hope and the attitudes we bring to each day. We can embrace the interruptions and disruptions as fresh invitations to spend time differently and invest in the people closest to us. We can lean in to completing the things that don’t normally have time to get done. We will get through this! And we want you to know that we are still here and still able to serve you in the waiting.

We can:

  • Host virtual appointments for consultations for family sessions, engagements, and the Class of 2021 Seniors. While actual sessions aren’t happening right now, the planning for sessions can still happen. Contact us today to schedule your virtual consultation and be top of the list to get on the schedule as soon as the restrictions clear.
  • Process additional orders from already-completed sessions.
  • Get excited to offer special opportunities for Cap & Gown Sessions and Prom Portrait Parties at the Studio – information will come as soon as we know dates can be set. Let us know if you’d like to make sure you hear from us when the details are set. In the midst of experiences that will look different or feel lost in cancellations, we have ideas for reclaiming some of these experiences and celebratory moments.
  • We offer portrait restoration and archiving services. Do you have legacy pictures that you’ve always meant to preserve by creating digital negatives through scans? Do you have historical pictures from decades past that need restoration? We offer these services, and normally can only take on these jobs in the first quarter of the year when our photography sessions are fewer. In the midst of the disruption, we have time to take on more of these jobs. Make today the day you take action on intentions, and we can be your partner to make it happen.

Reach out via phone at 719-291-9798 or email lindsay@jonathanbetz.com should we be able to assist you with our services.

We are praying over our world and for healing. We are trusting that God is moving mightily in our midst. We find gratitude in so many simple things. We find enjoyment in the extra family time, and extra time for special projects. And we cannot wait to return to the full scope of how we serve families to create legacy and finished art that celebrate FAMILY.

Eric | College Graduation Portraits | Class of 2020

We loved catching up with Eric for his college graduation portraits – after photographing his high school senior portraits in the Fall of 2015, it was such a treat to celebrate this next milestone in his life!

Eric is graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering. During college, studies took priority and earned him esteemed invitations into academic groups on campus. He also earned a wonderful internship in Oklahoma City and benefited from the opportunity to attend a convention in Canada. His favorite breaks from all his studies included OU football games and playing on intramural teams.

Congratulations, Eric, on the completion of your degree! We wish you the best as your career in petroleum engineering unfolds!

Justin | Indoor Studio Portraits Mini-Session | College Graduation Photography

Justin is graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder this Spring, and while his literal graduation will look different than expected, his accomplishment in earning his bachelor degree is significant.

We were so glad to be able to create these portraits in celebration of his accomplishments and all his hard work to earn his degree. Our studio mini session was a perfect fit. Our college senior sessions are great not only to create the celebratory senior portraits but to also create their first official professional headshot for their career start. Justin has a wonderful professional portrait to launch his career, and we know his family can’t wait to send out his graduation announcements. We also know they will enjoy the favorite poses in the finished art in their home for years to come.

Congratulations, Justin!

Courtney! | In-Studio Teen Portraits

Courtney is thirteen, completing middle school in the coming weeks, and heading into high school come fall. When her mom was in earlier this year for an updated professional business headshot, Courtney was with her mom for that appointment. Jon took a couple minutes and photographed a handful of portraits. Courtney’s whole face lit up when she saw these impromptu images and remarked that she’s mostly just seen her baby pictures around the house. Her mom began asking about a mini-session in the studio just for Courtney, and we could not have been more excited to create these portraits.

We scheduled Courtney for an actual, planned session, and her mom embraced the power held in these portraits – both the experience to create the portraits as well as the finished art that would be made. She made sure the whole session day was really special – complete with spa appointments for her nails, hair, and make-up. This day is going to be treasured by Courtney for years to come.

We have been photographing high school seniors for years. Every single time we present the portraits to these teens, it’s evident that Jon is helping each of them see themselves as strong, beautiful, and special. I had begun thinking already that it would be amazing to create portraits before senior year that would daily speak beauty, worth, and value to tweens and teens, helping them navigate what can be hard years with more confidence and a resounding assurance that they are special and loved. We have gotten to do just that for Courtney. May she always look at her wall portraits and know deeply that she is beautiful, special, and loved.

We’re excited to share both her impromptu and her mini-session in-studio portraits. We see a strong and beautiful girl with joy and spunk that lights up the room. And we are so looking forward to a handful of years from now when we photograph her high school senior portraits!!

Jon,
Thanks for your wonderful work of showing how beautiful my baby girl is. I’m proud to be lucky enough to be Courtney’s dad. I’m also a little sad to see how fast my baby girl is maturing.

Best Regards!
