Cole | Palmer Ridge High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2020

Cole is an athletic and musical high school senior who competes on the Palmer Ridge High School wrestling team and plays saxophone in the band ensembles. When he’s not in school, he enjoys reading and video games. Both he and his dad have a deep love for the Ford Mustang that dad has worked on for years. One day, it’ll become Cole’s car.

For his high school senior photography, Cole’s family matched well with our most popular one-hour Senior Session and chose an urban setting. We’re excited to share favorites from his session that features all of his interests in storytelling portraits matched with settings that provide a rich variety of textures and colors.

Enjoy your senior year, Cole, and we wish you the best as you finish high school strong and take your next steps!

Joshua | The Classical Academy High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2020

Joshua is an artistic, friendly, and talented high school senior. He’s involved in a wide variety of activities that include playing cello in The Colorado Springs Youth Symphony, color guard with the high school marching band, Boy Scouts, and saxophone in some of the high school ensembles. He’s also artistic and enjoys art and sketching.

For his high school senior portraits, he matched well with our longer Senior Experience with an emphasis on his urban location of Old Colorado City. For the smaller set of natural portraits, Jon took him to Bear Creek Park. Joshua brought some items with him to represent some of his areas of interest and expertise, and these items brought great storytelling into his senior pictures.

As Joshua looks ahead to his next steps after high school, he would love to study art yet also loves the ocean and could see a career in marine biology. We’ve enjoyed our time getting to know him and his family and know these senior portraits will always bring to mind favorite memories from this time in his life.

Aiden | Cheyenne Mountain High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2020

Aiden excels in music and plays euphonium with the Cheyenne Mountain High School band program. He has a passion for cars and dreams of one day owning a 1970 Monte Carlo or a GTO Pontiac. He and his dad attend the Pikes Peak Hill Climb annually, and that’s created some special memories for them over the years.

We’ve loved seeing this family back after first meeting them for his older sister’s senior portraits a couple years ago. We truly appreciate the loyalty from so many of our client families. Like before, Aiden loved a natural setting for his senior pictures and matched well with Red Rock Canyon. We’re excited to share favorites from his recent session!

As Aiden looks ahead to his next steps after college, he’s planning to enter a career as an HVAC specialist. We know Aiden will benefit from all the experience and connections his dad has to offer from a career in this industry. We’re excited to hear updates on all his next steps come graduation in the Spring!

The Mantonyas | High School Senior and Family Photography | Destination: Colorado Springs

The Mantonyas reside in the heart of the Midwest, and when mom was planning to compete in the race up Pikes Peak last summer, their oldest daughter had the thought that it would be perfect to photograph her high school senior portraits in Colorado.

Each year we work with a nice handful of out of state families who choose us to capture portraits in the mountains – something completely unique from what their home cities have to offer. We have a great time with these families and have created a variety of ways in which we bridge the distance of miles between us for the “before” and “after” steps of our client experience.

The Mantonyas wanted to make sure to give their high school senior a wonderful, dedicated time for senior portraits, so they chose our one-hour session for her. We helped match her to Red Rock Canyon for the location of her portraits. We then helped them add a mini-session for their family photography and were able to match them with Mesa Overlook for the family portraits. The two locations gave them wonderful variety of settings and scenes yet also ones that all complimented each other well. We made sure to help them do the sessions back-to-back as their time in Colorado was limited, yet each type of photography had a dedicated time. We feel it is incredibly important to give each type of portrait a dedicated time to be the focus. With multiple session structures to choose from, we can come alongside every client family uniquely – for this family, it was a perfect combination of a one-hour with a mini-session. We’re excited to share favorites from each of their sessions!

Dvorsky Family | Garden of the Gods Family Portraits

I’m completely partial to Jon’s expertise in photography – there’s no one else I trust with our own family photography – but sometimes even I am amazed by the portraits he is able to create in some of the craziest conditions.

The Dvorsky family is back with us this year for both the next round of senior portraits and also family portraits. Like most families, they have full schedules with kids and parents going in lots of directions each week. It’s not easy to coordinate all those schedules for family photography.

Clouds, heavy with rain, were moving into the city right at the start of their scheduled family session. Rain fell pretty much most of their session, so I actually thought Jon was joking when he texted to tell me he finished the session. He wasn’t kidding! He worked with utmost efficiency and created gorgeous portraits for a family who was more than willing to tough out a little rain to complete their portraits at the originally-scheduled time.

Rest assured, we will never compromise portraits with the weather, but when a family is up for giving it a go, the results are often awesome. This family had an absolute blast, and the precipitation brought a depth of color to the landscape that just doesn’t happen on a perfectly sunny day. Enjoy a handful of favorites from their recent photography session!
