Aaron + Alyssa | Wedding Photography at Wedgewood Weddings in Black Forest, COLORADO

It’s hard to believe that Aaron & Alyssa’s first anniversary is coming up this fall after sharing in their wedding day on September 7th, 2018. We have known the father of the groom for a handful of years and were truly honored to be entrusted with the photography for his son’s wedding day.

Aaron and Alyssa centered their wedding day on their shared Christian faith, and it truly blessed us to see the ways in which they were light on their day to all the loved ones who came and surrounded them. We loved that Alyssa’s dad served as their pastor for their ceremony and the ways they honored all their family throughout the day. We also appreciated the time they wove into their wedding day for special photography with just the two of them. Some of our favorites from their day are portraits created during these moments they gave us.

Jude & Vicki | Anniversary Portraits

Jude and Vicki celebrated their second anniversary in November, and for Valentine’s this year, gifted themselves professional photography with us! We had such a blast getting to know them and providing incredible wall art and a gorgeous album for their home!

Jon began a personal project this year, inspired by the art of Rembrandt. Jude was excited to be photographed as part of this project, and everyone has LOVED the portraits! This set of portraits added depth to the photography style Jon is known for across all our portrait work, and also featured some of Jude’s pipes.

As a couple, Jude and Vicki love traveling the world, spending time in museums, and when here in Colorado, are active hikers and love drives in the mountains.

We loved all the different aspects to their personalities and loves captured throughout their photography, and we are excited to share favorites!

Jude shared this about their experience with us:

My wife and I are pleased and ecstatic with the work of Jonathan Betz Photography. The artistic creativity is fantastic. They work with you to meet and exceed your expectations. Our portraits were our Valentine’s Day gift to each other and the results was more wonderful than we dreamed possible. Our album will be a Family Heirloom treasured for many many years.

Anika | Coronado High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2019

Anika counts herself among Coronado High School’s most recent graduates! This friendly and kind girl was active in a wide variety of groups during high school including the robotics team, choir, pep band, wind ensemble, softball team, and golf team. During senior year, her softball team had it’s strongest season ever! Her musical talents include flute, guitar, and ukulele. Anika loves Disney and dreams of becoming a Disney engineer. What an amazing job that would be!

For her high school senior portraits, Anika loved our multi-location Senior Experience option and matched well with the locations of Cheyenne Cañon, Garden of the Gods, and the Kissing Camels Golf Course. She brought a nice variety of items to bring in storytelling portraits to her images and represent many of her activities and interests. We’re excited to share favorites from her session!

Congratulations, Anika, on all your accomplishments, and may you follow two encouragements from Walt Disney: “If you dream it, you can do it,” and “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”

William | The Vanguard School | High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2019

William is an accomplished and gifted recent graduate of The Vanguard School and was honored to be Valedictorian of his senior class!

On the creative side, William is a published author and loves creative writing, piano, and singing. He’s self-taught on the piano and performs in the Catholic Young Mens’ Choir. On the athletic side he’s competed in track in the past and loves golf. He’s worked at The Broadmoor Golf Course as a caddy and that connection allowed permissions to use portions of that course for his senior portraits.

With college beginning in the fall, William is looking at double majors in philosophy and biology to be the stepping stones into law school. He loves law and would currently see himself pursuing bioethics law with eyes set on becoming a judge and serving on the Supreme Court one day.

His family loved our longer Senior Experience photography session option and matched well with The Broadmoor and Cheyenne Cañon as the locations for his portraits. We’re excited to share favorites from his session.

Congratulations, William, on all your many accomplishments. Keep your sights set on your goals. We know your future is bright, and we have loved capturing portraits that will always bring to mind favorite memories from your high school years!

Ty | High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2019

We loved photographing Ty and getting to know his family this Spring!

Ty has completed high school through online studies as he is on a high-level competitive hockey team that travels all over the country (and beyond) for competitions. Ty is quite accomplished and is looking to play at the juniors level as a center. We’d love to see him in the NHL someday!

When Ty isn’t training and playing hockey, he loves time with friends and enjoys activities like fishing and golfing. He has an adventurous side too. With his enjoyment in the outdoors, he loved choosing an outdoor setting for his photography. Garden of the Gods was an excellent choice, both for the time of year and the strength of mountain views at that location.
