Elevating Our Studio & Elevating Our Industry

Each January, we set aside a week to travel for the largest photography convention in the world: Professional Photographers of America’s Imaging USA. Lindsay began teaching at this national level 3 years ago, and she’s thrilled to continue to give back by helping photographers realize their aspirations and run thriving, sustainable photography businesses.

Throughout convention, we gain fresh ideas and inspiration that elevates the experience we deliver to each of our client families. This is a significant way that we continue to elevate our studio and continue to offer higher levels of service and expertise.

Throughout convention, we also give back, not only in educating, but in leadership training for our leadership roles in our Guild organization here in the Springs, and training for our leadership roles nationally with the American Society of Photographers (ASP) and on the National Council for PPA where Lindsay represents the state of Colorado. It is an exhaustingly full schedule while there, yet we return exhilarated and energized.

We’re currently enjoying the Advent season and the celebration of Christmas, yet right around the corner, we’ll be packing our bags, sharpening our minds, and heading to Nashville for IUSA.

Flashback Friday featuring Meigan | Liberty High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2019

Welcome to a Flashback Friday featuring Meigan’s senior portrait session!

During high school, Meigan was active in the performing arts. She was in theater and involved musically with guitar, drums, and vocals. She was in band some of her high school years, but during senior year was heavily involved as a drummer on worship arts with her church, Calvary Chapel. These experiences will be invaluable as she aspires to be a worship leader for her career.

Much of her life was lived in New Mexico, but her time in Colorado certainly gave her some amazing settings for all the outdoor activities she loves. This confident and independent girl has an adventurous side and is hopefully loving all the new experiences since graduating high school.

Her senior session featured great Colorado scenes, and we love the unique portraits featuring her drumming – these were worth the effort of transporting and setting up her drum set!

Enjoy favorites from a great session from the Class of 2019!

Looking Back to the Class of 2019| Destination: Colorado Springs Senior Portraits for Sophie

Sophie graduated from Trinidad High School this past Spring, and she aspires to become an editor for a publishing company. Her plans for double majors in English and Communications should prepare her well!

While in high school, Sophie was active in theater, writing, reading, soccer, and worked jobs at both a bakery and ice cream shop…both complimented her love for sweets! Her favorite seasons are fall and winter, so her late October session last year was a perfect fit.

Enjoy favorites from her multi-location session that paired both urban and natural settings to create a wonderful variety of senior portraits for this family!

Looking back to the Class of 2019 | Snowy Senior Portraits | Colorado Springs Early Colleges High School Graduate Gabby

On a snowy Tuesday, we’re taking time to look back to snowy sessions in 2019!

We loved seeing Gabby’s family back with us after photographing her older sister’s senior portraits a couple years back.

Gabby is artistic and creative and loves painting, drawing, writing, and reading. She’s planning on a degree in English and serving with the Navy. When at her pre-session consultation, she shared that she was open to snow as a feature in her portraits, and with being photographed in our winter months, we loved the opportunity to make that happen!

Gabby, we hope you’re enjoying all your next chapters in life that have been unfolding since graduation in the Spring. May these senior portraits always bring back favorite memories from your high school years!

Looking back to the Class of 2019 | Snowy Senior Portraits | Rampart High School Graduate Calvert

On a very snowy Tuesday, we thought it would be fun to look back at some of our snowy sessions from 2019!

Calvert graduated from Rampart High School this past Spring and was photographed toward the start of 2019. His snowy session date was perfect for this avid skier with a huge interest in hydrology. His location of Cheyenne Cañon was also perfect for finding snowy scenes.

While in high school, Calvert excelled academically and was active in the percussion section of the school band. He was also active in his church, and while we were working with his family, his dad and I realized that we looked familiar to each other because we’ve served together on worship teams in the past. We love making those connections!

Calvert is almost done with his first semester of college studies, and we hope today’s post looking back at his high school senior portraits brings back a flood of favorite memories from his high school years.
