Newborn Luke | Colorado Springs Baby Portraits

Photographing little Luke has been beyond special. We first met his mom when she was a senior in high school!  We have been blessed to follow her through so many important milestones in her life – engagement portraits, wedding photography, family portraits, maternity portraits…and now the newborn portraits for her first child. We have the best job ever! The privilege to grow with couples and families and be their family’s photographer over the years, building each time on the relationship we share – it’s the very heart of our passion for photography and our business.

Newborn sessions are one of our most favorite baby sessions. It’s the opportunity for the precious sleeping baby portraits and captures this new life at the earliest and smallest stage. We love coming alongside our new parents and helping make this session as stress-free as possible. We travel to the home of each of our babies, and that alone removes so much of the stress on new parents. We love being able to feature these little ones in their home and the opportunity to feature meaningful items unique to each family in the portraits.

Enjoy precious favorites of newborn Luke. He sure has some amazingly special parents.

Lauren | Pueblo East High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2017

Lauren is a happy, outgoing, and athletic high school senior who is involved in many activities and interests.  At school, she is the Student Body President and plays outfield for the softball team. Outside of school, she loves coffee and her bassett hound and enjoys being outdoors. After graduation, she’s committed to attend college in Nebraska where she’ll study and compete on their softball team.

Lauren chose our most-popular Senior Session and loved the location of Red Rock Canyon for her senior portraits. Red Rock Canyon offers red rocks and fields and mountains similar to Garden of the Gods, yet is much less crowded. Fall time colors were just beginning to appear when she was photographed this past fall, and we love that she featured her letterjacket, a decorated “L” for her name, and a hat that all brought great variety to her final portraits.  With all of our one-hour and longer sessions, there are no limits to what our high school seniors may bring to their session, so you’re only limited by your own creativity!

Nicolette | Fountain-Fort Carson High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2017

Nicolette is nearing the end of high school, and she’s made the most of her time!  On the creative side, she enjoys drawing, painting, and photography.  She participates in yoga outside of school, and within her school community, has been active in both FFA and DECA. With parents actively serving in two branches of the military, she’s considering a military career as well but may also begin working toward general education credits at community college come fall.

For her senior pictures, Nicolette chose our most popular Senior Session and matched well for Garden of the Gods as her session location. She featured her love for reading and yoga during in some of her portraits and also found creative ways to bring in her Class of 2017 and excitement for graduation!

Preston | Manitou Springs High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2017

Preston is one of our rare snowy senior sessions, and we LOVE it!  So many high school seniors must get in during the summer and fall months before and during the start of senior year, so these handful of sessions that happen in the winter months create some truly unique portraits.

Preston chose to do our one-hour senior session in Garden of the Gods.  He was pretty excited to potentially have snow in his session, and we’re so excited he did. He loves winter for snowboarding and enjoys mountain activities year round. In addition to snowboarding and being active in the outdoors, he excels in golf.  He’s played for over ten years now and lettered three times during high school!  He also has played in the state tournament. As he finishes high school, Preston’s excited to pursue a career in woodworking or as a welder.

We’re excited to share snowy portraits that have his family thrilled with the result.

GRADUATION!

Jonathan Betz Photography Senior Graduation Announcements
With the last surge of our custom announcements arriving earlier this week, I just had to take a quick picture!  Each season, about half of our senior families choose to create their graduation announcements with us. Most everyone pre-orders in the summer and fall, and we finalize them in March of each year. We’ve been in full swing announcement-creation mode since March 1, and right as we always hope, all of our families will have them in hand by April 1st.
