Final Prints & Products Matter | Colorado Springs Professional Photography & Family Legacy

We LOVE Canon‘s new line of ads showing why printing pictures and creating tangible items matters in our highly digital world.  We’ve always been committed to providing all of our client families access to ordering from a full and exciting line of professional quality prints and products so that every session we do leaves that family with legacy pieces for the home.  Whether or not you realize it now, experiencing a photograph in print is a different and a more meaningful experience than on a screen.  You can read more about this and learn about the heart of our business from a post we did earlier this year following the loss of Jon’s Grandma B [Professional Photography & Your Family’s Legacy].

We hope you enjoy this ad from Canon (don’t worry, Nikon, we still love you for all of our professional equipment…) – we can’t stop laughing and also appreciate the poignant truth it holds as well.

Ashley | Mitchell High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2015

Ashley is one of Mitchell High School’s recent graduates who will soon be headed off to college to pursue a nursing degree.  She’s creative and caring and loves piano and art.  She loved urban pictures best and wanted a session with lots of colors, so we helped match her with Manitou Springs for her photography session location.  She moved here from Texas the middle of senior year, and her family was excited to have Colorado senior portraits to join the ones they’d done in Texas during the fall semester.  We’re excited to share some winter senior session portraits with you – we certainly DO photograph outdoor sessions year-round here!

The McCarty Family | Colorado Springs Destination Family Portraits

Every year we have a bunch of out-of-state families, both large and small groups, who choose to do family portraits with us while out in Colorado on vacation.  The McCarty’s are one of those families!  They ended up here in town during a week where it took DAYS for our sunshine and mountains to show themselves, so we were really glad when the sun FINALLY appeared and the clouds cleared and they could have those views of our gorgeous landscape.  With our out-of-state families, we do everything possible to help them have a great session during their limited days here in town.  We gave this session a first attempt and then thankfully had sunshine and beautiful views on the second try.  The McCarty’s have amazing mountain-view portraits to decorate their home, and we’re excited to share some of their family pictures!

When you’re in Colorado Springs, it can be a great time to consider family portraits or high school senior senior portraits.  When we have the availability, it’s an opportunity to bring the mountains to your home, especially when your day-to-day views might be quite different!

A few tips when you’re interested in doing destination family portraits:

– Call well ahead of your trip to secure your session time on our calendar

– Pack with the attire guidelines in mind so you bring a cohesive look for your photography session

– Plan a time during your trip to come in and see in-person all of our ordering options to make the online, long-distance ordering significantly easier

Here’s what the McCartys had to say about their experience with us:  We couldn’t be more pleased with Jonathan and his wife/assistant Lindsay. The whole process was a 5-star experience. Their willingness to be flexible because of weather was impressive.  Not only that, we LOVED every photo taken! We highly recommend them for any photography needs. – The McCartys

CERTIFIED!! | Announcing Jon’s Recognition as a Certified Professional Photographer

Certified Professional Photographer We are beyond excited to announce Jon’s completion and acceptance of the steps required to receive the designation of Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  He set the goal to receive his CPP this year, and the steps required passing a written exam followed by an extensive submission of professional work demonstrating mastery of specific lighting, posing, composition, and technical elements at the professional level of photography.  He passed the written exam in April, and just last week, we received word of the acceptance of his print submission!  While his artistry and talent as a professional photographer has always been evident, this certification validates and vets him in the same way board certification validates and vets professionals in a variety of other fields.   CONGRATULATIONS, JON!!

Rebecca | Thomas MacLaren Charter School | High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2015

Rebecca is enjoying summer and has big plans for travel to Spain!  Her senior photography session was done at Monument Valley Park and featured many of her favorite elements including stone walls, fall colors, and great close-up portraits.  She wove in storytelling to feature her viola and love for reading and writing.  Her much-loved dog, Strider, was at the session too, and we do welcome these furry, four-legged family members along for any of our portrait sessions.

Rebecca, enjoy all that lies ahead for you and the travels just around the corner.  We know you’ll create amazing new memories and love immersing yourself in the culture of Spain!
