In these first weeks of our son’s cancer diagnosis, we hold close and value highly our time together this Thanksgiving. We are beyond grateful for faith, family, smiles, laughter, mountain views, a home filled with loved ones, and YOU. We LOVE serving our families through photography!!

The beautiful thing about our photography business is the way that our lives become connected and intertwined with yours. Our client families are an extension of our own family. We are invited into your lives, and in turn, you become invited into ours. It’s beautiful, and yet, sometimes our lives are messy and painful. Because we’re connected together, we invite you into the hard journey our family will be on over the next 8-10 months. On October 31st, our five-year-old son, Tyler (now a new 6-year-old!), was diagnosed with cancer. He’d been having headaches since we returned from a fall break trip, and after 4 doctors’ visits over the next 10 days, we took him to the ER where they did an MRI and found a brain tumor. While we are not alone in hearing those words spoken to us, when you hear it, your heart falls and your world changes. In light of news you never want to hear, we are so thankful for so many of God’s mercies in all of this…
– Tyler is fully expected to beat this cancer through chemo and radiation and does not need brain surgery
– We have experienced an outpouring of love and support from family and friends around the world
– Our God is Present, Big, Able and has Tyler securely in the palm of His hand
– He has already given us Hope and a peace that passes all understanding
This will be a hard journey. There’s just no easy way through cancer. We invite you into this part of our family’s story because our stories matter and because your prayers are exactly what we need during this time. We are still running our business, it just might look a little different for the next handful of months. And we hug our kids a little tighter and seek out the joy and blessing of each day. Because each day has new meaning. Each day is a gift.

Andy is a bubbly, responsible, independent senior who is quite ready for graduation! She is a passionate reader and writer and would love to be a novelist in the future; however, this intelligent senior plans to major in engineering…that should give her a nice “back up” career! In addition to reading and writing, she loves theater and has led the “ninja” tech crew and been prop master for Liberty’s productions. Andy wanted an urban setting for her high school senior pictures, and we matched her with Old Colorado City. We are excited to share our favorites from her session.

Miriam is an independent, responsible, and motivated Cheyenne Mountain High School senior who’s planning on college next Fall combined with receiving her pilot’s license. She’d love to have a career as a pilot, either for charter or commercial flights. She is an accomplished figure skater and moved from Alaska to Colorado Springs to pursue her skating; however, a back injury unfortunately ended her figure skating aspirations. Despite that injury, she decided to stay in Colorado Springs to finish high school and clearly has some awesome, new aspirations.
Miriam chose our multi-hour Senior Experience and used the locations of Manitou Springs, Rock Ledge Ranch, and Garden of the Gods for her photography. We’re excited to share favorites from her high school senior photography session!

We are so excited to welcome Newborn Luke into the world! He has super proud, excited, (and yes, somewhat sleep-deprived) parents and beautiful newborn portraits to share. We love, love, LOVE newborn sessions since they capture that little baby at the smallest stage. It’s the one time to capture those peaceful sleeping-baby moments too, and since we travel to the home of our families, we make baby sessions as stress-free as possible. There’s enough craziness when you’ve got a newborn, so this helps our families relax into the baby sessions – your baby is in his or her familiar environment and everything you need is right there with you.
