Veronica | Vista Ridge High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2015

With graduation literally around the corner, we know Veronica is excited to complete her time at Vista Ridge High School and begin a new chapter in life in the military!  She’s specifically looking to serve with the Marines.  She was excited for a natural setting for her senior portraits, and after completing a short yearbook session with us to satisfy the submission deadline for yearbook, she completed her full session at Cheyenne Canon.  Enjoy favorites from her senior photography session last fall…

Emma | Palmer High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2015

Emma is a talented high school senior who excels in music.  She plays piano, cello, and handbells, and when we caught back up with her family just a few weeks ago for the pick up of her custom announcements, we found out she’ll be pursuing a degree in music therapy!  I’m so excited for her as that was my first career before Jon and I launched this photography business.  It’s an amazing field that will give her such a rewarding career helping people through music.

As Emma finishes these last weeks of high school, we know the excitement of graduation will be enhanced knowing that she represents the third generation of Palmer High School graduates in her family – how awesome is that?!

Scott + Katie | Wedding Photography at Rock Ledge Ranch and Garden of the Gods

Scott & Katie’s intimate wedding at the quaint Rock Ledge Ranch Chapel was a special wedding!  We’d photographed her sister’s wedding a few years back, and it was so fun to see familiar faces and be a part of another wedding day for the family!  Scott and Katie’s wedding ceremony had many unique, personal aspects.  Their officiant is a close friend who brought in Native American blessings and the wedding blanket ceremony; the family each blessed the couple with a verse or passage; and Scott and Katie had written their own vows.  I’m not sure there was a dry eye in the Chapel during their ceremony.  Following the ceremony, we had a great time taking Scott and Katie to a couple of great locations around Garden of the Gods for some fantastic portraits of the two of them and our Colorado scenery.  Congratulations to you both!  We had such a great time with you on your wedding day!

The Smith Family | Family Portraits at Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs

The Smith Family was a really fun session that showcases a really close extended family.  These girls are cousins who enjoy the closeness of sisters, and we love how much fun they all had during the session!  We also had a chuckle because these girls are all used to the heat and humidity of Houston, TX and North Carolina, and they were freezing during their session on a 50 degree day in March.  For those of us who live here, a 50 degree day in March feels downright awesome, right?  I spent 8 years living in Houston, so I can attest to the fact that a few years there does make you feel like 50 is quite cold.  When we moved to Houston, I was going into 5th grade, and we moved there from Minnesota – talk about a climate change!  I have vivid memories of walking with my neighbor friend to the bus stop on a 50 degree day that first “winter” in Houston.  She was wearing a wool hat, winter coat, scarf, and gloves…I was in jeans and a long sleeve shirt, no coat.  I asked, “What are you wearing?!”  She was like, “It’s cold!  I’m wearing my winter stuff!!”  I was still on Minnesota weather – at 60 degrees there, we’d wear shorts again!  Enjoy some favorites from a great Colorado Spring session at Garden of the Gods!
