Spring Mini-Sessions | Family Photography at Red Rock Canyon

We’re trying a little something new this year – a handful of opportunities for mini-sessions at some of our favorite places in Colorado Springs.  We wanted to share a handful of highlights from the mini-session day at Red Rock Canyon.  These sessions are 30-min in length and minimize travel from one spot to another at the featured location.  These sessions are perfect for all families yet are especially well-suited for families with young children whose attention span might do better with a shorter session.  These sessions still allow for nice variety with time to do different groupings within each family.  What’s so fun about these sessions is the individuality to every family’s portraits.  Even though each mini-session on a given day uses the same overall area within that location, each family chooses different colors and styles for their attire and has unique personalities that shine in the portraits.  From each of the highlighted sessions, you’ll see families who shared fun, laughter, and togetherness.  And each of these families made new memories during their session.  Should you be interested in booking one of our few remaining spots left for our family portraits mini-session specials this summer, simply contact our studio at 719-291-9798.  We’d love to have you with us for this or one of our full one-hour sessions!

Abigail | Lewis Palmer High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2015

Abigail is one of Lewis Palmer High School’s most recent graduates, and we know she’s excited to pursue a career in environmental science.  She’s happy, creative, and adventurous and loves fall colors, sunsets, and Colorado scenery.  She loves drawing and painting and especially loves hiking to the waterfalls in Palmer Lake.  Her family spent most of their time in the Woodland Park area and only recently made Monument, Colorado “home.”   Abigail chose our one-hour Senior Session option with Red Rock Canyon as her location for her senior pictures.  We love how her red hair compliments the golden tones of the grasses when she did her senior photography session and “pops” in the green grasses.  Her creativity and artistic nature came through with patterns & bright colors in her outfits and fun images at the end of her session with glitter!

Trent | Falcon High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2015

Congratulations, Trent, on your recent graduation from Falcon High School!

Trent is fun-loving and outgoing once you get to know him.  He’s competed on the golf team and active with the JROTC.  He is a talented BMX biker and loves his ’79 Jeep Wagoneer.  Jon had a great time at his session at Fox Run Park and enjoyed the action BMX images they created together.  As the reality of graduation comes, Trent’s deciding on his future with careers as a mechanic or with the military as his strongest considerations.

Our best to you, Trent, as you take those next steps!

Daniel + Beth | Urban Engagement Portraits in Downtown Colorado Springs

We loved photographing Daniel & Beth’s engagement portraits!  Beth works for the American Heart Association, and we’ve enjoyed getting to know her over the years through our involvement in and donations to the Fall “Go Red” Event and Winter Heart Ball.  She and Daniel are getting married in July out in California, and when a destination wedding is planned, it’s awesome to have an engagement session in the city that holds a couple’s relationship story and memories.

With all the crazy rain we’ve had, this photography session took patience – we did have to reschedule a couple times and change the location.  Tthere’s always flexibility required with outdoor portraits since none of us know what the weather will bring on the scheduled session day, but you can always rest assured that we will do everything we can to provide a great session.  When we finally had the weather cooperate (i.e., not rain!), we chose downtown Colorado Springs in order to avoid the inevitable mud in natural settings.  The portraits are awesome and give such great texture and unique elements in the pictures.

Daniel & Beth were in just a few days ago to view their portraits, and we loved hearing their reactions to their engagement portraits – they love them!!  Their portraits capture their fun-loving personalities and highlight their amazing love and friendship they share.  Can’t wait to hear stories from the wedding day…Congratulations to you both!

Kyle | Pine Creek High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2015

Kyle is outgoing, adventurous, and loves being the center of attention.  We imagine he’s had lots of opportunities to have some of that attention with all the graduation festivities!  Kyle plays electric guitar and loves his 1980s red Porsche.  He plans to study mechanical engineering.

Kyle chose our one-hour Senior Session, and with his request for “big scenic views,” Garden of the Gods was the perfect location for his photography.  There’s simply no better location here to feature the mountains along the Front Range and have iconic views of Pikes Peak.  It’s also the best location for silhouettes – amazing, artistic silhouettes are one of our specialties, and many of our families love silhouettes for their wall art portraits.

We’ve really enjoyed getting to know Kyle’s family, and we share that connection of owning a small business with them.  Kyle’s parents are owners of CertaPro Painters of Colorado Springs.  There’s an instant bond when you meet another small business owner, and we truly appreciate their commitment to supporting other small businesses in our city.  Check them out should you be in need of painting help – we know they have a heart for serving their customers well and doing jobs with excellence.

Congratulations, Kyle, on graduation – you made it!!
