Kristen | Air Academy High School Class of 2011

Wow was it fun to show Kristen and her family her pictures! They were just in a couple days ago, and after watching the slideshow, it was a lot of tears and “are you ready to start your modeling career?” and “I’m speechless.” Comments that we LOVE and that tell us we’re serving our families well!

Kristen is actually one of TRIPLETS, and while we photographed her last, she managed to make it in to be the FIRST of her siblings to see her pictures. Stephanie comes in Friday, and we’re pretty sure Kristen will be along as well! Kristen’s session was really fun. She wanted to do some great portraits in her prom dress, and it truly is an awesome dress (and yes, she could easily be a real model, especially glamorous in the dress!) and Jon loved photographing her in the dress in a variety of great locations. Kristen’s spunk and instantly likable, infectious personality really come through in her pictures. We love LOTS of them, and here’s a sampling of some of our very favorites!

Hunter & Ashley

Hunter and Ashley are getting married in just two weeks! We’re really excited for their day and that it’s almost here! Hunter is a recent graduate of the Air Force Academy, and their ceremony will be held there. Ashley’s been back in Tennessee with her family since the fall, so we know they are excited to be together again SOON. We’re thrilled that we will have lots of time for photography around the Air Force Academy and throughout Colorado Springs after the ceremony…Jon is so looking forward to lots of time to get creative and explore with them. Their engagement session was this past fall at Monument Valley Park. Here are some of our favorites from that special time. Congratulations guys…we’re excited for the 31st!

Jackson and his Family | Children & Family Portraits

We’re just amazed at how much Jackson has changed since we photographed his newborn, 3 month, and 6 month portraits! He’s now 16 months old and apparently RUNS everywhere he goes! He and Dad have quite the bond now, and it was a joy to capture some great father & son moments as well as some fantastic portraits of Jackson at Monument Valley Park. And we managed to do some updated family portraits as well…all that in time to be done so that Jackson could get home in time for his regular routine of dinner and bedtime. Here are some of our favorites from the session…

And as a total side note, Jackson’s dad is a fantastic OB here in town, partnered with my OB doctor. If you’re in need of a fantastic OB/GYN doctor, I’d encourage you to check them out!

Happy 4th of July!

We hope everyone takes time today for a moment of appreciation for the freedom we have in America. It’s truly amazing. We are so blessed to live here and experience freedom on a daily basis. And we thank all of you who serve our country to continue to fight for our freedom and safety. THANK YOU!!

Our 4th of July was fairly quiet. We contemplated whether we would attempt to go out to The Broadmoor, The Air Force Academy, or Palmer Lake for an evening fireworks show, but at around 7 pm when Tyler was clearly ready for bed and Natalie was looking rather tired herself, we realized that as parents of little ones, it’ll likely be a couple years before keeping the kids out past 10 pm makes sense! Anyway, this is actually the very first year (since moving to Colorado) that we have not worked a wedding on the 4th of July, so little did we know that leaving our house just was not even necessary to enjoy some pretty amazing displays in our own neighborhood! So…we enjoyed quite a great show simply sitting out on the corner and snuggled under blankets! And not only did we have great fireworks, but the lightning was also all around us. It ended up being just perfect since Tyler slept peacefully through it all, Natalie got to watch some, and then we watched more once she was happily asleep. So it is possible to have a great 4th of July, complete with impressive fireworks, without leaving your home and with two little kids!
