The Brescia Family | Family Photography at Garden of the Gods

As with so many families, the Brescia Family knew their oldest son’s senior year presented an important time to not only commemorate his life milestone but also celebrate their whole family. We love helping each family build the ideal combination of sessions, and we offer a variety of options to meet each family’s individual needs and preferences. For the Brescia Family, their family photography was the focus, and they were excited for wall art and finished art prints that captured their close family relationships and Colorado beauty.

For this active, close-knit family, Garden of the Gods became the perfect setting for both senior and family portraits.

Enjoy favorites from their September photography session!

Kinzie at Three! | Children & Family Portraits | Red Rock Canyon

We are absolutely honored to be telling the story of Kinzie’s life for this family! We first captured Kinzie’s newborn portraits and have since been invited to capture her milestones as she turned one, two, and now three. Kinzie is energetic, talkative, and adorable – even when she’s giving her parents the “gifts” that strong-willed, first born children bear. 🙂 Her bright personality shines through in every session we’ve photographed.

We photographed this session at Red Rock Canyon, and as the session was ending, Jon and this family were literally trying to outrun the storm that quickly rolled in. Thankfully, the session was already complete when the rains came, but as the saying goes, “When life brings you lemons…make lemonade!” As you can see, the rain puddles made for a playful, fun end to the session and the creation of some priceless portraits! Kinzie calls puddles “stompers” ’cause that’s exactly what kids love to do…stomp through those puddles!

We love the Betzs. Jonathan always takes good care to make Kinze laugh and has the expert eye to capture her in the cutest poses.

Molly| ECA High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2019

Molly is a high school senior who’s described as loyal, intelligent, compassionate, and fun-loving. She’s active in youth group at Woodmen Valley Chapel, and WVC is our church home too. She’s excited to have been able to take her faith internationally on mission trips with the youth group.

In school at ECA, Molly is active in theater and choir and loves to read. In the community, she volunteers with serving kids both in the church nursery and as a volunteer with the Pikes Peak Library District.

As she completes high school and looks ahead to her future, Molly plans on pursuing an English degree as the first step in a career as a librarian for children’s literature.

Molly chose to combine our one-hour Senior Session with a mini-session in order to have a small number of outdoor, natural setting portraits alongside the main location of Woodmen Valley Chapel’s 1979 Coffee House. It was a perfect combination for her, and we’re excited to share favorites with you!

Anna | Air Academy High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2019

We have truly enjoyed getting to know Anna and her family throughout their experience with us for senior photography.

Anna is an intelligent and compassionate high school senior who adores animals and has a self-described “zoo” in the home – they care for everything from reptiles to kittens! Anna also plays guitar, is fluent in American Sign Language, loves vintage items and styles, and is a member of National Honor Society.

With her love for animals, Anna has her sights set on a career in veterinary medicine and has been excited for the college coursework in zoo-keeping she’s been studying during this last year of high school. She has the perfect heart and passion for these pursuits!

Anna matched best with our most-popular Senior Session, and Red Rock Canyon was a perfect setting for her senior pictures. As we mentioned already, Anna loves animals. Wolves are her absolute favorite. To everyone’s amazement, as her photography session was ending, an owner of wolves arrived and acquiesced to Jon’s request to have an opportunity to photograph Anna with the wolves. It was an awesome, serendipitous ending to an already fun and beautiful session.

Angela + Collin | Wedding Portraits | 09.09.18

We had an amazing time with Angela and Collin on their wedding day. This was such a special celebration of families and friends coming together to be part of this marriage. We loved the ways Angela and Collin included and honored each of their children throughout the day. Their day was filled with unique, personal touches, and it was obvious how esteemed and loved they are by their friends and family.

The ceremony and reception took place at Phantom Canyon Brewery in downtown Colorado Springs, and we loved the opportunity to take the wedding party around the nearby urban and park areas for those portraits. Following the reception, we had the best time photographing urban portraits of these two newlyweds on a photography walk through downtown, ending at The Mining Exchange where they enjoyed their first night married. Wedding day timelines do not always prioritize photography the way these two did, and the time they built into the day for this created truly special portraits and fun memories to cherish.

When we think back to their wedding day, we remember huge smiles, abundant laughter, authentic tears of thankfulness for this relationship, and two people who seem perfect for each other.
