Luke is an easygoing high school senior with both a great sense of humor and a serious side. He love reading, hanging out with friends, history, music, and video games. He also loves fishing, so having a location with a lake was important for the setting of his senior pictures. And that can be a challenge here in dry, Southern Colorado! We settled on Crystal Reservoir for his photography. After graduation, Luke’s planning to start college and looking at either clinical or social psychology or going into land management. With being a people-person and one who loves the outdoors, we know he’ll be great pursuing either of these career paths!

Living in the beauty of the mountains, we most frequently have families choose natural settings for family pictures; however, it’s really fun to choose urban settings too! These two families were photographed earlier this year in Old Colorado City, and we’re sharing some of our favorites with you. Urban sessions are great year-round since, unlike the natural settings that readily show the season, urban areas keep a consistent look regardless of season. They can also be perfect for families who love city life and who are less outdoorsy; or for the family who has done photography sessions in natural settings in the past and who are looking for a change for the next session.
