Grace | Destination High School Senior Portraits from Texas | Class of 2012

Grace and her family have just been so fantastic to meet and photograph!  They are from Texas (I spent much of my growing up years and college years there, so that’s a fun connection to share with them!) and have always loved traveling to Colorado over the years.  When they weren’t finding what they were looking for in Texas, they started looking in Colorado Springs for photographers and found us!  They are a close-knit, gracious, and faith-filled family, and we truly hope that it does work to see them again this fall for a family session.  Grace’s high school senior pictures were taken at Cheyenne Canyon, Stratton Open Space, and Garden of the Gods – it was important to her to feature fantastic natural landscapes and rustic Colorado for her pictures, and these places were perfect.  Her dad has said that he’s been “shamelessly” showing her pictures around, and we welcome any fellow Texans to plan a trip out to the mountains of Colorado Springs for senior portraits or family portraits with us!

Grace’s mom had her camera during the session and took some great “action” images of Jon “at work” (some people might call it play, but it is what we do for a living…are we blessed or what?!?!), so just like our previous post from Clay’s high school senior session, you’ll get a little sneak peek at how the setting looks and then what the final portrait looks like.  And if you love learning a little bit about Jon’s set up for his portraits (you’ll see his off camera lighting and also Grace’s dad assisting with a reflector in a few of the action images), feel free to check out Clay’s Post and also our information on our Photography Classes & Workshops.

Brittany | Destination High School Senior Portraits from Oklahoma | Class of 2012

Brittany is actually from Oklahoma and while visiting her cousin here in Colorado Springs, came to us for a destination senior portrait session! We’ve had so much fun getting to know her family and taking her senior pictures, and we know they will be VERY unique compared to the rest of her graduating class from Edmund, OK!

We wanted to share both her movie and some favorites with you, so enjoy!

Danny | Cheyenne Mountain High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2011

Okay, I had thought that I’d done the last Class of 2011 post, and then realized that I’d not yet posted on Danny.  So…without further delay, we present our favorites from his senior portraits session!  Danny and his family have been great to work with, and we thank them for their service to our country.  Danny himself just arrived at West Point (good luck with that orientation!), so as you might imagine, he’s quite a fantastic young adult (you become a “young adult” when you graduate high school, in my mind).  He attended Cheyenne Mountain High School and was on both the football and lacrosse teams there.  We loved capturing his session at Cheyenne Mountain High School, in Cheyenne Canyon, and down in Old Colorado City.  Best wishes to you as you begin your next steps in life at West Point!

Happy 4th of July! We got to spend the holiday weekend in Taos, New Mexico, photographing the destination wedding of Matt & Rebecca. We love photographing destination weddings since we always get to know the couples and family and guests so well by the end of the weekend. Since we always arrive the day before, we include rehearsal and rehearsal dinner photography which gives us the great opportunity to meet the family and wedding party ahead of the wedding day. Matt & Rebecca have been an especially gracious couple, and they welcomed us to be a part of all the events of the weekend. It was a very fun time experiencing the place they love and through their eyes.

We also love destination weddings since it’s a time when we often get to experience a new part of the world. This was our first trip to Taos, and we’re excited to return! The wedding itself was at the El Monte Sagrado Resort…just beautiful and perfect for the wedding and reception. Prior to the ceremony, they took us to some meaningful places in Taos for portraits of them…Taos Morado; The famous Catholic church, San Francisco de Asis; and the view of Taos Mountain from The Sheepskin Factory. It was a great mini-tour of Taos for us!

Congratulations, Matt & Rebecca! We had so much fun with you, your families, and your guests, and we look forward to seeing you at the end of this month to show you all of your wedding pictures!

Enjoy this first one as a “teaser” of all the fantastic ones yet to come!

The Wilkies | Family Portraits at Garden of the Gods

The Wilkies are a super fun couple who have really enjoyed their time living in Colorado. They’re returning to Florida shortly, so our Groupon deal was a perfect opportunity to take some great Colorado family portraits to remember this time. They’ll be close to family again when they return to Florida, but it sounds like they’ll really miss the mountains and dry climate we enjoy here! Garden of the Gods was the perfect place for their session since it so clearly represents Colorado Springs. Best wishes to you and safe travels to Florida. We’ve loved photographing you!

Enjoy some favorite pictures from their session…
