Trystan’s family found us through Groupon, and it’s always fun to have a handful of high school senior portrait sessions outside of the huge summer and fall rush! Trystan chose an urban feel for his session, so downtown Colorado Springs was the perfect setting for his session. Sarah is a new Big Sister, so a big congratulations to her! We had a great time capturing individual portraits of both Sarah and new baby Rachel as well as the girls together. They already seem to be fast friends! Sarah is quite close in age to our daughter, Natalie, and Sarah is so much like Natalie! We’ve really enjoyed their family, and while they found us through our Groupon, are connected with a number of our families and are also doing all of Rachel’s photography over her first year with our “My First Year” package! Our wedding photography season for 2011 officially begins in about 2 weeks with a destination wedding to Saint Lucia in the southern Caribbean!! We are very excited to travel to a beautiful and exotic location soon! And the very next weekend we’ll be in St. Louis to capture their big reception where all their family and friends can celebrate with them. We will certainly share lots of the pictures from St. Lucia on our blog!

We have been photographing the Houle family for years and just love them! We’ve always been doing baby photography until the opportunity this winter to photograph their immediate family as well as Mandy’s extended family. We were at Cheyenne Mountain Resort for their photography session and really enjoyed getting to capture family memories at a time when their family continues to grow and change. We are truly honored that we continue to be the photographer for their family!
We recently completed our winter class covering Post-Production and The Digital Darkroom and so enjoyed it! A big thank you to our participants! One of the overall themes that came from this class was strong interest in our fall workshop on the foundations of photography. It’s fantastic to know what to do to enhance images in Photoshop and how to use Photoshop to do those things that have to be done in post-production, but ultimately, Photoshop cannot make a mediocre picture great…but it can make a great picture truly fantastic. Knowing how to take a great picture in-camera is really the goal, and everyone is really excited for that class in the fall.
