Ian | Newborn and 3 month Baby Portraits

Ian is the 3rd baby for Dave & Mandy, and he has two adoring older sisters. We’ve been so blessed to have photographed all three of their kids and love watching them grow up! We also got to do family portraits with Mandy’s side of the family around Christmas, but we’ll get to that post later! We love this family and their laid-back and loving approach to life and kids. My time with Mandy when she comes to see the pictures is always fun and we tend to get to talking about life and parenting (most recently I’ve been grilling many families on potty training since my Natalie seems quite disinterested…) and funny kid stories. And our kids look forward to some playtime with the girls (Ian’s just a bit too little still) when they come along to see lil bro’s baby pictures! Enjoy some favorites from both his newborn and 3 month sessions…

3 months old…he is such a happy, smiley guy!

Family Photography in Colorado Springs’ Monument Valley Park

We wanted to highlight a few families who chose Monument Valley Park for their family photography sessions in the past few months. We love Monument Valley park for family portraits…it’s such a large park that you can have a completely different feel for each family, and there’s a lot of great variety throughout the park. As you’ll see from the favorites below, these sessions are all very different from each other, despite all choosing the same location. Enjoy!

The Almond Family…

The Cooks were really fun to photograph. They took advantage of our groupon deal but did know all about us from The Derdas (they are the couple in the snowy picture in our studio that just about everyone loves). We always love it when we get to photograph new families who’ve already heard about us!

The Flores Family…These are the first professional pictures of their little guy, Gabriel, and we had quite a few we just loved of him!

Jake & Kati | Urban Engagement Portraits in Downtown Colorado Springs

Jake & Kati’s wedding is coming really soon, and we loved doing their engagement pictures downtown! They are a fun-loving couple and share a love for Chipotle (it’ll be served during their wedding weekend too!), their faith, and each other. Enjoy our favorites…and yes, the movie titles are for real and were just too perfect!

The Betz Family Fall Trip to Durango and Ouray COLORADO

Travel is one of the things we LOVE to do, and while it is far more tricky with young kids, we make it a priority each fall to take a trip that takes us to a new part of Colorado. This past fall, we’d pretty much exhausted our possibilities for day trips so this was our first year to make our fall “drive” a fall “trip.” We spent 3 days and 2 nights traveling to Durango and Ouray. These travels are mostly about the journey and the sights along the way, and of course, fall is such a beautiful time to take in the turning of the aspens and the gorgeous colors that speckle the mountainsides.

We probably loved our 4-wheel-drive experience on Lime Creek Road the best – we got to see sights that take you far off the beaten path of the highway, and Jon, of course, loves using the Trooper for dirt roads that give him the chance to put the Trooper to the test! I’m still amazed that Natalie and Tyler managed to sleep through almost the whole way up this road since it was about the most jostled time of our hours and hours in the car. Despite Tyler being sick (not that you’d be able to tell from his pictures…the kid is almost always smiling), it was a fantastic time with some new fantastic pictures from our family’s adventures!

Enjoy!
