Happy 4th of July! We got to spend the holiday weekend in Taos, New Mexico, photographing the destination wedding of Matt & Rebecca. We love photographing destination weddings since we always get to know the couples and family and guests so well by the end of the weekend. Since we always arrive the day before, we include rehearsal and rehearsal dinner photography which gives us the great opportunity to meet the family and wedding party ahead of the wedding day. Matt & Rebecca have been an especially gracious couple, and they welcomed us to be a part of all the events of the weekend. It was a very fun time experiencing the place they love and through their eyes.

We also love destination weddings since it’s a time when we often get to experience a new part of the world. This was our first trip to Taos, and we’re excited to return! The wedding itself was at the El Monte Sagrado Resort…just beautiful and perfect for the wedding and reception. Prior to the ceremony, they took us to some meaningful places in Taos for portraits of them…Taos Morado; The famous Catholic church, San Francisco de Asis; and the view of Taos Mountain from The Sheepskin Factory. It was a great mini-tour of Taos for us!

Congratulations, Matt & Rebecca! We had so much fun with you, your families, and your guests, and we look forward to seeing you at the end of this month to show you all of your wedding pictures!

Enjoy this first one as a “teaser” of all the fantastic ones yet to come!

The Wilkies | Family Portraits at Garden of the Gods

The Wilkies are a super fun couple who have really enjoyed their time living in Colorado. They’re returning to Florida shortly, so our Groupon deal was a perfect opportunity to take some great Colorado family portraits to remember this time. They’ll be close to family again when they return to Florida, but it sounds like they’ll really miss the mountains and dry climate we enjoy here! Garden of the Gods was the perfect place for their session since it so clearly represents Colorado Springs. Best wishes to you and safe travels to Florida. We’ve loved photographing you!

Enjoy some favorite pictures from their session…

Jeremy & Jenny | Destination Wedding Photography from St. Lucia, Southern Caribbean

Jeremy & Jenny’s destination wedding at The Jalousie Plantation in St. Lucia was back in April. We did a post of a few of the images right after we returned from their St. Louis reception the weekend after the wedding, but here’s the official post with all of our favorites! I’m so glad that they chose us for their wedding photography and that we were able to have some days on either side of the wedding just to relax at this amazing resort! We had some great days to relax at the resort and snorkel; ziplined through the jungle; and visited The Botanical Gardens and Diamond Falls in the nearby town of Soufriere. This has become our very favorite island in the Caribbean, and we certainly hope to return someday! One of the aspects of The Jalousie Plantation (soon to be The Tides at Sugar Beach) that makes it so amazing is it’s location on this small island…it’s nestled in between two of the Piton mountains, and the views are just breathtaking. It truly was a tropical paradise!

Enjoy a bunch of favorite images from the island of St. Lucia and from the wedding day…and a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Jeremy & Jenny!!

Gorgeous! I love the photos of the hotel and the sunset. Could totally see it on a travel/vacation magazine!

The Brady Family | Colorado Springs Family Portraits at Cheyenne Canyon

The Brady Family was with us for an entire year of photography as part of a Bebe Boutique package for their son, Kaden. Their package included a family portrait session which we did this Spring in Cheyenne Canyon, and we are excited to show you favorites! It’s always amazing to us how quickly the time flies with our families who come to us for either our “My First Year” or boutique packages for baby photography. We’re privileged to have been a part of watching Kaden grow and change over his first year and truly hope we get a chance to see the Brady Family again in the future!

Mark & Shannon – Thank you for your support of our business and for inviting us into your lives. You have a beautiful family!

Ariel | Fountain-Ft. Carson High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2011

After completing just a quick yearbook session last fall for her Fountain-Ft. Carson High School yearbook submission, Ariel returned in May for her full Senior Experience session. It was right before her graduation, so her older brother was able to be a part of her portrait session and was even in some of her pictures. And since her actual graduation was just around the corner, we took cap & gown pictures too…something we rarely do since we typically photograph our high school seniors the summer before or at the start of their senior year. We began her session at Fountain-Ft. Carson High School and then went to the junkyard, Bear Creek Park, and downtown. One of my personal favorites is the fantastic portrait to feature her Polynesian dancing. Ariel was officially our last high school senior for the Class of 2011, and we’re excited to show you favorites from our session! Our Class of 2012 season is already underway, but before we start sharing those high school senior photography sessions with you, we want to wish Ariel the best and hope that her family’s recent move to North Carolina went well!
