The Olds Family | Colorado Springs Family Portraits

We loved serving this family with family portraits that had been in mind for over a year prior to completing their session. We understand that many dynamics and challenges often make scheduling and coordinating time across all the family members difficult…especially when you find yourself in that time in life that the kids are young adults and out of the house!

And yet…The effort is worth it.

Family portraits are priceless opportunities to freeze the season you’re in and forever create a connection to the best moments and memories from that fleeting time. Families are always changing…a new child is welcomed, kids grow and change (and quickly!), marriages happen and the family expands, grandchildren come, and certainly the moments that hit the hardest happen when we experience loss. There are both joyful and grief-filled changes. And all of them matter. It’s so important to mark some of the seasons in the life of a family and give your family the gift of connecting the present to the past. And it is a gift to have portraits visible in your home spaces, filling your home and heart with joy and sweet memories of the people you love most in this world.

For the Olds family, these summer portraits captured the final season as a just family of 5 as they welcomed a daughter-in-law to the family last fall! We’re excited to share favorites from their portraits completed last July. June and July are the best months for the vibrant, lush green tones of the grasses and trees, and their location of Cheyenne Cañon showcases those beautiful greens so well.

Dorothy | Pine Creek High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2026

Dorothy is a creative, articulate senior with impressive skills in magic tricks and juggling. Jon had such a fun time creating the images that showcase these talents. Her love of entertaining extends to performing in theater productions. She is an avid reader, and her creativity extends to writing where genres of fantasy and dystopian stories are favorites. As if this wasn’t an already-impressive list of talents and giftings, Dorothy has also excelled in taekwondo where she holds her 1st degree black belt.

Academically, she loves math and science classes best, and those interests pair well with her plans to pursue pre-med studies in college come fall. She plans to enter college holding her EMT certification which will give her a solid foundation of medical knowledge on which to built on through that degree!

The indoor studio was the perfect setting to create Dorothy’s senior portraits to celebrate her and all her accomplishments, interests, and talents. Enjoy our favorites here!

Gabrielle | Destination: Colorado Springs High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2026

Gabrielle is an amazing young woman, poised to be a powerful force for compassion, leadership, and service in the world as she launches from high school into college studies in pre-med this fall.

In her Dallas-area high school, she has developed her servant leadership through serving as an Ambassador for her private school in the admissions department where she helps new and incoming students find their place in their new school environment, both academically and socially. Her excellence academically has been rewarded in her invitations to be part of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Art National Honor Society, and Science National Honor Society. Outside of her school, she continues to be active in Girl Scouts and spends time with elderly care visits at nursing homes.

Gabrielle also excels athletically. She completed in soccer from her youth through 8th grade, and when high school began, her love for volleyball became her focus competitively. She stayed connected to soccer through managing the high school team. Volleyball fills much of her time as she competes on her travel club team and may continue with collegiate level competition. Her studio session was the perfect setting to showcase her many accolades athletically!

Creating senior portraits for Gabrielle was such an honor. Her mom is one of Lindsay’s closest friends from college, and they traveled from the Dallas area to Colorado Springs for senior portraits that capture the beauty of the mountains. We recognize the high compliment when friends choose to become clients…and even more so when they have traveled from out of state to do so! And we certainly loved soaking up time with them on their visits!!

Gabrielle’s mom did some fun “behind-the-scenes” pictures during the experience of creating both her studio and outdoors sessions, so enjoy seeing the scene next to the finished portraits. We trust these portraits are a perfect blend of celebrating all of Gabrielle’s accomplishments, her sparkling personality, and the beauty of Colorado. Her outdoor session held some initial light rain that quickly cleared with a rainbow and provided a rich saturation of color across the rocks and amazing texture to the mountains. She showed an adventurous spirit to get to some of her portrait spots for those grand views and incredible rock formations. Enjoy a handful of favorites from her session presented below!

We are so proud to be part of the celebration and can’t wait to see everywhere your next steps lead you!

Gavin | Pine Creek High School Senior Portraits | Class of 2026

Gavin’s life experiences and interests have provided him with a great foundation for when he takes his next steps into young adulthood after completing his final semester at Pine Creek High School. While he shares that common love of many senior guys for video gaming, his interests beyond the expected are vast. In the outdoors, you’ll find him fishing, hunting, and snowboarding; he’s also interested in crazy weather and storms. Aside from those, he loves thrifting and is an accomplished musician and in a band where his guitar and drumming skills shine. His family serves our military, and he’s loved living all over, including time in Japan.

For his senior portraits, Gavin’s interests paired well for combining a studio session with an outdoor session, and we’re excited to share favorites from both settings.

As he wraps up high school, Gavin’s potential career pursuits include meteorology and storm chasing. Congrats, Gavin, on your upcoming graduation! We wish you the best in all your next steps!

Giving Back | Educating Our Industry at Imaging USA Convention in Nashville

Today is the day! Since 2018, Lindsay has been giving back through educating at the national level within the largest community of professional photographers. This year’s Imaging USA, Professional Photographers of America’s national convention (the largest in the world) is in Nashville, and Lindsay is teaching an all-day course on the business side of portrait photography. She’s always blessed to educate and encourage photographers to elevate and refine how they honor their craft, serve their clients with excellence, and create a business on solid foundations that stands the test of time. Our own business will celebrate 20 YEARS of success in 2026, and we know that investing in continuing education and experiencing the vibrancy of the photographic industry at annual convention has certainly been one of the significant keys to our success.
